Hi, this is Betsy from Otto’s. We have a dynamic duo for our guest authors this First Friday! Dr. Chris Coppola, head pediatric surgeon at Geisinger Hospital will discuss and sign his new book, Coppola, A Pediatric Surgeon in Iraq. It’s an account of his two four-month stints at the Balad Air Force Base Combat Hospital (forty miles from Baghdad). Injured soldiers, male and female, (both American and Iraqi) burned and shattered civilians—men, women and children, even captured insurgents—all of these took every ounce of know-how and energy this doctor had to give them. When sleep wouldn’t come, he wrote to his wife about the heartbreaking cases he’d had and his book draws from those letters. Also signing will be Diane Keeler, author of A Patient Friendly Resource for Epilepsy—a book born of her struggle with the condition and those of the friends she found on Myspace. Both Dr. Coppola and Diane Keeler will be signing Friday, from 5 to 8 at Otto’s, 'a booklover’s paradise in the heart of Downtown Williamsport.'
