169th anniversary: Nov 13 – 19, 2010

Hi this is Betsy from Otto’s.  This Friday we are celebrating our one hundred and sixty-ninth anniversary!  And you are invited to help us celebrate!  From 5 to 9 we will have food from our downtown neighbors…live mellow blues by Alfonse Ciaccio…and, of course, a couple of live authors.  Richard D. Baldwin, now of Jersey Shore, practiced medicine in New England for 32 years, his last 16 in Maine.  His novel is In the Mists of Time, a story set in Maine.  It’s a mystery, a poignant love story, a tribute to the natural beauty of Maine and an expose of what he perceives as the corrupt power structure.  Lots to think about when you finish the book!  The other author, Thomas Crumm of Arlington, Virginia, whose grandfather lived in Williamsport in the early part of the twentieth century, traces his grandfather’s career in the auto industry and offers the reader the answer to the question he uses for the title of his book, What’s Good for General Motors?  And, oh yes, we’ll be pulling the winners of our drawing for a one hundred dollar gift certificate and 69 signed books.  Register now at Otto’s, for 169 years a booklover’s paradise, in the heart of downtown Williamsport.
