THE BAD MOOD AND THE STICK

Lemony Snicket's latest masterpiece tells the story of a lurking bad mood who is always ready to pounce on a new victim. With his usual flare for language and humor in dark topics, accompanyed by Matthew Forsythe's perfectly expressive illustrations, he tells a tale of the bad mood that pounced on Curly when her mother said "No!" to an ice cream cone and the stick that landed on the ground when the tree dropped it. What roll does the stick play in thwarting the bad mood as it moves from victim to victim? Be aware; that grumpy mood is always waiting to ambush an unsuspecting character but, take comfort in the reality that it is always on the move.
