Mo'Ne Davis: Remember My Name: 8/16/15

Hi this is Betsy from Otto’s singing the praises of a book for the pre-teen girl that could inspire her to dream big and then work hard to achieve her dream.  Mo'ne Davis: Remember My Name: My Story from First Pitch to Game Changer is the true story of a thirteen year old girl in Philadelphia who played with the boys in baseball, basketball and soccer.  We know her best as the star of the 2014 Little League World Series here in Williamsport.  Now she’s written a book about how she did it.  She caught the eye of an inner city coach when she was seven and was throwing a football to a neighborhood boy!  The coach approached her and her mother to see if she could join the team of boys he coached in multi-sports.  The rest is history.  She was the first female pitcher to win a game in the Little League World Series, the first Little Leaguer to appear on the cover of “Sports Illustrated,” the first Little Leaguer to be honored at the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York.  She throws a 70 mile per hour fastball and tells, in her book, how she does it.  Mo'ne Davis: Remember My Name—you’ll find it at Otto’s, a booklover’s paradise in the heart of downtown Williamsport.
