The Road to Little Dribbling: 1/25/16

Hi this is Betsy from Otto’s.  I guess it’s no secret that I am about to retire—not closing Otto’s, just selling it (hopefully).  At any rate this will be my last commercial.  And two of the most frequent questions I get are “What are you going to do after you retire?” And “Are you planning to travel?”  Well the answer to the first question is an emphatic “Nothing!”  Ooh, does that sound good!  And to the question about traveling, I say why travel when you can read about the places you might want to visit—for a lot less fuss and money?  I just read Bill Bryson brand new book, The Road to Little Dribbling, Adventures of an American in Britain.  I got a guided tour of the small villages, shires and counties of rural England.  By car, bus, ferry and mostly just plain walking, Bill and I enjoyed a lively tour of the tight little island.  The innkeepers, the museum docents, the fellow travelers, all gave us a unique experience in a foreign country.  Bill lovingly reveals his adopted home including its quirks and warts.  Irony and humor bubble up in every chapter.  Read The Road to Little Dribbling.  You’ll find it at Otto’s a booklover’s paradise in the heart of Downtown Williamsport.
