Hi, this is Betsy from Otto’s. There’s no place like home. That’s why we specialize in the “Images of America” books about many of the home towns around here. We have more than 10 of their titles on Williamsport, Muncy, Lewisburg, Milton, Nippenose Valley, Hughesville, Picture Rocks, Eaglesmere, Jersey Shore, Pine Creek Villages and now their very latest, Sugar Valley Villages. David Kagan wrote it with John W. Harbach, Sr. David will be in our store September 2 to talk about this charming cluster of villages and sign his book. Sugar Valley is only twenty miles long and about two miles wide, but it has been “home” to many people over the years, people who came for the healthful mineral springs and left and people who came for lumber and farming and stayed. Fires devastated whole villages and the people rebuilt. Nine little towns lie peacefully in the valley that Route 80 bypasses.
