Under the Harrow/Lock Haven: March 26 – April 1, 2011

Hi this is Betsy from Otto’s.  Under the Harrow, by Mark Dunn, is a beguiling fantasy about the last twenty-seven days of Dingley Dell, the home of the descendants of a group of orphans placed in the secluded valley as a Darwinian experiment in the mid 1800’s.  Today’s Dinglians have discovered a plot to destroy the Dell and they must foil the plot to survive.  The narrator of their story writes in the style of Charles Dickens, the only author in the Dell’s meager library.  Little by little he and his friends discover things are not what they seem and they have far more resources than they had realized!  Mark will be signing from 5 to 7.

Maria Boileau will also be signing.  Her book, Lock Haven, is a book of photos in Arcadia’s Images of America series.  See how they adapted to the rages of the river and the disappearance of the logging and the canal.  Maria will be signing from 5 to 8 and bringing even more photos.

Two darn good reasons to come First Friday to Otto’s a booklover’s paradise in the heart of downtown Williamsport.
