Winter Picture books: 1/17/2015

Hi this is Betsy from Otto’s.  Snow can be a danger, a nuisance…or if you’re a child—a wonder!  As Cynthia Rylant says in her book, Snow, “Children love snow better than anyone does, and they never complain as they pull on their red boots and mittens and make plans to catch wet flakes on their tongues…”  The old favorite, Katy and the Big Snow (now in a board book) takes the listener on a victorious day of plowing out the town of Geopolis.  Over and Under the Snow follows Daddy and child through the snow in the forest where Daddy tells about all the animals in the forest who live over…and under the snow.  The old favorite, The Mitten, about all the animals who crawl, one by one, into the mitten the little boy lost in the snow—we have that one too…and dozens more that turn this dangerous, nuisance…into a wonderland for children.  You can teach them to love nature in all its seasons with books from Otto’s, a booklover’s paradise in the heart of downtown Williamsport.
