August First Friday: 7/1/2015

She sold his art—beautiful paintings of wildlife done on leaves.  He was a “lifer” in Bedford maximum security prison. She knew about prison manipulators.  So how could their exchange of letters form a bond as close as she had with her grown sons.   Hi, this is Betsy from Otto’s talking about Cindy Sanford’s book, Letters to a Lifer, the Boy ‘Never to Be Released’.  He was convicted of murder at the age of 15 and given life without parole.  She will be at Otto’s this “First Friday.”

And a ‘double header’ for fans of Williamsport—two new books about our area!  Williamsport, from the Images of America Series—color pictures of our town in the fifties, compiled by Dana Borick Brigandi and The World of Little League, by Jan Ogurcak.  Both authors will be signing this First Friday.  And Reverend Bob Wallace will be signing his latest paperback for kids, Abel is Saved.  Meet them all Friday from 5 to 8 at Otto’s, a booklover’s paradise in the heart of Downtown Williamsport.
