About the Author

Pete Donovan is a sports columnist for the Palm Springs Desert Sun. He is a former sportswriter for the Los Angeles Times and the Fullerton News-Tribune, and has covered and followed the Angels for over 40 years.

Tim Salmon spent his entire career with the Angels, where he earned the American League's Rookie of the Year award in 1993. During his thirteen seasons, he became the Angels all-time leader in home runs (299), and finished as one of the most popular players in team history.

Mike Scioscia has been the manager of the Angels since 2000. He has twice been named American League Manager of the Year (2002, 2009), and is the Angels’ all-time leader in wins and games managed.
