Graduation Gifts: 5/23/2015

Hi this is Betsy from Otto’s with a few suggestions for graduation treats.  A picture book, What Do You Do with an Idea, would be a perfect little “kick in the pants” for anyone moving from the known to the unknown…for anyone with a good idea but missing the drive to do something with it.  You Will Go Far is a little book of affirmations for the graduate to show that you believe in him or her.  It ends with “Wherever you go, whatever you do, there will be an adventure waiting for you.  Good luck!”  And then, do you remember your commencement speech?  Probably not.  J. K.Rowling (yes, the author of the Harry Potter series) gave a commencement speech at Harvard a few years back and, by popular demand, it’s now in book form for those who heard it (and forgot it) and for those of us who never heard it.  Very Good Lives, the Fringe Benefits of Failure and the Importance of Imagination sums up this fabulously successful author’s experience with failure and how her imagination saved her.  You’ll find all these and more at Otto’s a booklover’s paradise in the heart of downtown Williamsport.
