Juniata Iron Trilogy: 11/2/15

Hi this is Betsy from Otto’s This Friday come meet Judith Coopey, a history teacher-turned novelist, who will be signing her books, Redfield Farm about the Underground Railroad in Pennsylvania, Waterproof about the Johnstown Flood, and her new series, The Juniata Iron Trilogy.  Each of these books engage the reader with stories about real-life people dealing with the struggles of their times.  The Furnace, the first volume in the Juniata Iron Trilogy, begins with an arranged marriage.  Ellie is pregnant with the child of a ne’er do well neighbor.  Her ambitious father wants her as far away from his home as he can get her.  Adam, a young iron worker with big dreams and no money, is given the money to buy a run down iron furnace if he will marry Ellie and “make her an honest woman.”  Adam weathers the ups and downs of the iron business in the wilds of Western Pennsylvania and the reader gets a pain-free lesson in the history of our state.  The struggle continues in the sequel, Brothers. Come meet the author Friday at Otto’s, a booklover’s paradise in the heart of Downtown Williamsport.
