Christmas Books for Kids: 12/14/15

Ho, ho. Ho, this is Betsy from Otto's. Have we got the Christmas spirit yet? Kids can learn the spirit when you read them the picture book, Me and My Dragon, Christmas Spirit. A little kid and his pet dragon learn giving is better than receiving but what if they don't have any money? They take all sorts of jobs that only a dragon can do and after they have enough money they realize other people need it more and they make their gifts for Mom and Dad and give the money to people in greater need. The Legend of the Christmas Cookie, a picture book set in the Depression era, tells of a boy moved to give away his only Christmas cookie and includes not only the story of the origin of the Christmas cookie, but also a couple of recipes. The First Christmas, a board book for the youngsters who needs to know the reason for the season. It retells the biblical account of Jesus' birth and ends up “This is why Christians celebrate Christmas.” You'll find books for every season at Otto's a booklover's paradise in the heart of downtown Williamsport—open daily 9 to 8.
