Rival archaeologists must team up on a secret Aztec expedition, or it could leave their careers—and hearts—in ruins.

Archaeologist Dr. Socorro “Corrie” Mejía has a bone to pick. Literally.

It’s been Corrie’s life goal to lead an expedition deep into the Mexican jungle in search of the long-lost remains of her ancestor, Chimalli, an ancient warrior of the Aztec empire. But when she is invited to join an all-expenses-paid dig to do just that, Corrie is sure it’s too good to be true...and she’s right.

As the world-renowned expert on Chimalli, by rights Corrie should be leading the expedition, not sharing the glory with her disgustingly handsome nemesis. But Dr. Ford Matthews has been finding new ways to best her since they were in grad school. Ford certainly isn’t thrilled either—with his life in shambles, the last thing he needs is a reminder of their rocky past.

But as the dig begins, it becomes clear they’ll need to work together when they realize a thief is lurking around their campsite, forcing the pair to keep their discoveries—and lingering attraction—under wraps. With money-hungry artifact smugglers, the Mexican authorities, and the lies between them closing in, there’s only one way this all ends—explosively.

About the Author

USA Today bestselling author Jo Segura lives in the Pacific Northwest with her husband and doggo, who vies for her attention with his sweet puppy dog eyes whenever she's trying to write (her dog, that is... though sometimes her husband, too). Her stories feature strong, passionate heroines and draw upon aspects of her life, such as her love of good food, her Mexican heritage, and her fascination with archaeology. When she's not writing you can find her practicing law, shaking up a mean cocktail, or sitting out on the patio doing Buzzfeed quizzes (though she doesn't care what the chicken nugget quiz said--her favorite fruit is not banana).

“Romancing the Stone meets Indiana Jones in this thrilling adventure romance.”—Entertainment Weekly

“Heartbreak, redemption and steamy narrative drive a true enemies-to-lovers tale.”—The Seattle Times

“A thrilling, page-turning story that will take readers for a wild ride. Raiders of the Lost Heart is as unique as it is compelling—a dash of academic rivals, a pinch of second chance romance, a sprinkle of intrigue, a most badass female lead, and a whole lot of archeological shenanigans in a beautiful Mexican setting! Jo Segura delivered the ultimate enemies-to-lovers adventure romcom!”—Ali Hazelwood, New York Times bestselling author

“Sexy escapist fun and delightful in every way.”—Jenna Levine, USA Today bestselling author of My Roommate is a Vampire

"Adventure, intrigue, and steamy romance! Jo Segura skillfully weaves all three—& more—in this delightful debut!"—Priscilla Oliveras, USA Today bestselling author of West Side Love Story

"This book has it all! Passion, adventure, and so much swoon! Perfect novel for anyone who grew up wishing they could accompany Harrison Ford on a quest! Obsessed!”—Alana Albertson, author of Ramón and Julieta

“An adventure romance so steamy you’ll need to rinse off in a sexy jungle waterfall after reading.”—Jen Comfort, author of The Astronaut and the Star

"Segura’s rip-roaring debut is sure to put her on the map."—Publishers Weekly

"With its well-crafted, interesting characters and intriguing storyline, this debut novel will fly off shelves."—Library Journal

"Segura balances action-packed adventure with enjoyable romance tropes: Instead of "just one bed," there's "just one tent." Corrie is a likable heroine, and she and Ford have enough chemistry to keep readers turning the pages. A fun, fast-paced adventure rom-com with plenty of steamy scenes."—Kirkus

"It's a hopeful sign of good things to come, both by Segura and possibly the genre as a whole: There's been a dearth of adventure romance novels for far too long, and Raiders of the Lost Heart is a thrilling addition to the canon that will hopefully kick off a new wave of the subgenre."—BookPage
