Growing Together: A Puberty & Wellness Event for Girls and Their Caregivers

Learn about your growing, changing body from UPMC, Hush Med Spa & Gina Loveless; with free refreshments, vendors, books, giveaways & prizes!

Join us on July 25th, 2026 at Penn's Inn at the Pennsylvania College of Technology for an engaging morning designed for girls and their parent or caregiver. As part of the Otto Bookstore Women’s Health Series, this event is presented in partnership with UPMC to support families through this important stage of growing up.

The program will feature Dr. Alligood of UPMC Williamsport as the guest speaker, sharing clear and medically grounded information about the physical, emotional, and developmental changes that come with puberty. There will be time for questions!

We’re also excited to have Sarah Fritzen, an esthetician from Hush Med Spa, as a featured speaker and vendor. Sarah, will share simple, real-life skincare routines, talk through what’s normal during this stage, and offer tips focused on health, hygiene, and confidence. You can stop by their table to learn more and ask questions.

Also, Gina Loveless, author of Puberty is Gross but also Really Awesome, will be joining the event (virtually!) to bring her humor and honesty to the conversation. She remembers going through puberty with reverence and joy... Oh wait - no. Puberty was actually awkward, uncomfortable, and full of embarrassing moments. Her relatable storytelling and humor help normalize the ups and downs of growing up. Gina is also the author of the Diary of a 5th Grade Outlaw series, a co-author in the Animal Rescue Friends series, and a contributor to the Creepy Cafetorium series.

This event is ALL about learning side by side in a comfortable, welcoming space. It’s a chance to have open conversations, get trusted guidance, and leave feeling more confident about what’s next. Can't wait to see you and your daughter(s) there!

It's a Book Release Author Event with Chantal Gadoury!

Join us for a special reading and book release event with Chantal Gadoury.  Beyond Ever After is the wonderful follow up to Until the Last Page and we get to celebrate the release with Chantal Gadoury!

About the Author: Chantal Gadoury is a best-selling fairytale retelling and romance author who lives in the beautiful countryside of Muncy! When she isnt pursuing her next writing endeavor, she enjoys spending time with her loved ones and taking long walks to the sound of BTS.

About the book: Beyond Ever After

Return to the world of fairytales that readers first fell in love with in Until the Last Page in this magically charming sequel.

When Jo fell into a book of fairytales, she thought she would only have to save one prince. But now she has to save his brother, too.
In this new chapter, Jo finds herself lost once more in a world of magic, crowns, and impossible choices. The stories have changed, but the dangers haven't--and neither has the truth: loving a frog prince was never meant to be easy.

He thought one kiss would solve everything--but now, Prince Aneurin must stop a doomed royal wedding. With Josephine by his side, they tumble through twisting tales in search of a clever witch hiding behind a perfect disguise.

Between running from bearded kings, and avoiding unwanted betrothals, they navigate kingdoms and stories that refuse to stay neatly written. As adventures collide and hearts are tested, Jo and Aneurin soon discover that even in fairytales, the most dangerous magic of all is love.

Join us on Sunday, July 26th from 3-4 PM for Storytime with Emily Li Sun at the Otto Bookstore!

Author Emily Li Sun will lead this storytime with a read aloud of her debut children's book: Mr. Chow's Night Market.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Emily Li Sun is a children's book author with titles from Penguin Workshop and Scholastic.  She is passionate about firing up imaginations, fostering empathy, and finding joy in everyday magic.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Mr. Chow's Night Market tells the fantastical tale of one grumpy old man and the cration of Taiwan's first night market.

Mr. Chow lives for the night, when the moon is a wok full of simmering oil. Too bad he owns a supermarket and has to wake up very, very early. Mr. Chow hates mornings and so does his store: The shopping carts are sluggish, the front door yawns, and the pomelos roll down the aisle in a sleepy daze.  When disaster strikes, Mr. Chow seeks advice from other workers and the similarly buoyant, anthropomorphic buildings they work in. And soon, he discovers that his store doesn’t have to be a morning market…it can be a night market!

The August Artist of the Month: Patty Bailey

Patty Bailey has lived in Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, for most of her life and now resides in Linden with her partner, Jack, and their two dogs, Abbey and Scooby.

Working primarily in acrylics, Patty paints landscapes, wildlife, and rural scenes inspired by the beauty of north-central Pennsylvania. A recent passion for hiking has led her to explore local forests, streams, and waterfalls, where she photographs the places that become the inspiration for her paintings. Her painting Jacoby Falls grew directly from one of those adventures.

About four years ago, Patty joined Art Post Awareness, a veterans program that combines art instruction and peer support for veterans living with PTSD. Through the program, she developed her skills as an artist and discovered the healing power of creativity.

Patty strives to create paintings that invite viewers into the scene, allowing them to pause, appreciate the beauty around them, and experience the quiet moments found in nature.

Rebecca Yarros Midnight Release for Peculiar Stars!

Join us on Monday Night November 16th at 11pm as we celebrate the next big book from Rebecca Yarros: Peculiar Stars!

From #1 New York Times bestselling author Rebecca Yarros comes a slow-burn romance about love, family, and what it means to become the truest version of yourself.

Callista Moran has spent a lifetime putting her own plans aside to care for other people. Once she and Darren Knight announce their engagement, she thinks her future is finally set. But when a routine sailing trip goes tragically wrong, a cyclone blows those carefully made plans away.

Stranded on an island for the next eighteen months alongside the crew and her fiancé’s cousin, Callista discovers a strength she never knew she had. And begins to question the life she always thought she wanted. With Dominic, an ex–army medic, she finds true peace—and a version of herself that she doesn’t need to explain. They resist their connection at first, but as months wear on, and the hope of rescue fades, something real starts taking shape, built on who they are when everything else is stripped away.

When they’re finally found, the world hasn’t changed. But they have. In the height of a modern media frenzy, learning to live as the people they’ve become will challenge not only their definition of survival, but love.

We're having a party and we want you to come have fun with us!
