Fathers' Day: 2018 Next Generation Indie Awards Finalist
Description
FATHERS' DAY is the story of first-year teacher Victoria and her student Francis, whose year-long journey helps each deal with the burdens of shared loss and move toward hopeful transformation. At times laugh-out-loud funny, it's the story of a woman barely more than a child herself trying to heal her student who may know more about love and consequence than she does. FATHERS' DAY paints a life slightly to the side of the one we thought we knew but infinitely more tender, more delightful and more filled with transformative potential.
About the Author
H J Brennan has filled some of life's everyman slots: field picker, grease monkey, garbage man, barn builder, steel worker, bartender, art teacher and creative director. For six years, while writing his debut novel, Fathers' Day, he worked in a bicycle shop with competitive, twenty-something Whippets who kicked his butt on nearly every ride. He has attended Kutztown, Temple and Stanford Universities, is still paying off those loans and lives in Northern CA with his wife and two daughters, his mother-in-law, and Lucy, a happy-go-lucky pup.
